Buy nowMy client's process involves Sales Orders which can convert to Multiple Invoices as they are using QB Desktop Manufacturer edition (2016).
Remote access is presenting security issues, and they're considering moving to QB Online. As my research indicates, there's no accommodation for Sales Orders in QB Online.
What are some creative solutions for this, or am I mistaken? They absolutely need to be able to enter Sales Orders that can be invoiced later.
Thanks!
Hi @arretx,
Thank you for considering QuickBooks Online. I am glad to assist you with the available solutions for the Sales Order feature in QuickBooks Desktop.
I understand that entering sales orders and converting them to multiple invoices in the Desktop Manufacturer edition are part of your client's business process. But, no need to worry! You can utilize the Estimate form in QuickBooks Online.
An estimate is a quote or bid for products or services that you provide to your customer. It contains information about your proposal, and what they can expect to pay. Once you are ready to send it to your customer, you can convert the estimate to an invoice.
Here are some articles that will guide your client when setting up estimates:
For the complete process of conversion and personalization of estimates in the program, I am adding these resources:
I hope this answers your question about the creative solutions in QuickBooks Online. Let me know if you need any further assistance with linking sales forms. I'm always ready to help you.
QBO doesn't provide the assembly or sales order feature. You need to have a 3rd party manufacturing app with the sales order feature to integrate with QBO.
I find it ridiculous that there are posts going back to 2018 complaining about the lack of a Sales order feature in QBO and the response continues to be " use the Estimate feature". This is not a viable solution and Intuit does not seem to consider developing this update a priority.
Does anyone have a good experience with a third party app that integrates SO into QBO efficiently?
Thanks!
What kind of business do you run? A manufacturing company or retailer/wholesaler?
