Accountant's copy no longer needed

Hello,

I am using QB Pro on Desktop and just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly before I proceed. Last spring our then-accountant had us make an accountant's copy, and he was *supposed* to come back with changes to import, but that never happened. He's long gone so there is nothing to import. We have been working in QB daily as usual, but it has "Accountant's Changes Pending" at the top, and I've noticed there are few things we have been unable to do, such as delete products from our Items List. I was trying to figure out how to turn this off and get back to how we had it before. I've been searching these boards, and I *think* I just need to "Remove Restrictions". First, I want to make sure that is the correct way to go about it, and Second, I just want to verify that this does not delete everything we have been doing for the last year. (I read something about it being irreversible.) Thank you in advance for any advice!

Not sure which version of QBDT you're using, but this should work...

To to File > Send Company File > Accountant's Copy > Client Activities > Remove Restrictions

It may be a little different with your version, but basically you want to go to where you created the Accountant's Copy and find something that says Remove or something similar.

Second option if you can't find a way to Remove the lock.  If you have a copy of what you sent the Accountant, go through the same File menu and Accept the changes.  Since it's the file you created, there are no changes.  It should just release the lock.  But the first method would be the preferred choice.
