my aged pro 2016 desktop is challenging to be polite. Is there a way other than shutting down and reopening to activate the memorized transactions? I have been butting my head since early Nov.2020. I am sure there was interference by someone wishing to do the business harm. The property is t be sold but i still need to keep things up to date. First thing that happened was accountants copy option grayed out aka unavailable So CPA would be happy to work with the backup option that was available. Well that ended in total disaster. Backups and company file not to be found. Two trips to Geek Squad found enough for me to rebuild the year. Backups performed ok HP SimpleSave is now working ok but when i try to do a backup at the end of a work session it goes nutz and i spend multiple hours sometimes days getting to where i am now. i spent some time on Tuesday with QB and several hours yesterday and we really just got to the point of having to purchase 300.00 - 700.00 support. since the property is being sold the owner is nt willing to do so.the terrific feature about this program was the memorized transactions. There are over 200 accounts to invoice. Does anyone know of a way i can get this to autoinvoice without the off and on that may sink me into another morass ???

Hi there, @brendalynne29.
I appreciate the details you've shared about this issue. Let me help you get this sorted out to keep your QuickBooks running and so you can get back to your business.
This odd behavior can be because of the computer's performance that stops the QuickBooks Desktop program to operate seamlessly.
Many variables may affect the computer's performance such as the RAM needs to increase its size or the Operating System needs to be upgraded.
Another reason is when there is a competing program while running QuickBooks Desktop. I'd recommend reaching out to an IT specialist to help you check the specifications of your computer.
You may also contact our QuickBooks Desktop Technical Support Team if you need further assistance with the steps. They have additional tools to pull up your account and do a remote session.
I've added these articles to help you with the process:

I want to ensure this is taken care of, @brendalynne29.
Usually, this error occurs when your data is damaged or corrupted. We can run the Verify/Rebuild tool utility to detect the data damage.
Here's how:
If QuickBooks doesn't find any problems, select OK. However, if QuickBooks finds an issue with your company file, click Rebuild Now.
Also, make sure QuickBooks has its latest release. This is to ensure that everything is up to date.
I've also encouraged checking our Help articles page to learn some tips and tricks in managing your QBDT account. From there, you can read great articles that can guide you through the steps by steps process.

i am trying all the suggestions and am being quite busy doing so. I have also received some suggestions by a couple of other people and am trying all of them. Sometimes when i reply i will get a comment from someone that i have not replied to. the comment options would I imagine implying that the attempts on my part had repaired the disfunction. that is not always the case but there does not seem to be an option to reply with working on it thank you but still struggling.
first, I want to thank those who have responded and let you know that I am applying all the sugestions. There have been more issues to repair than i could have possibly imagined.
No. 2 It seems that the flashdrive in the tower was the culprit in the process of removing data from the computer. When it was removed at the time we needed to do the accountants copy it would seem that is when the disconnect occurred.. When i did the browse suggested by the process suggested by the last person it apparently found and fixed issues. BUT I am not sure how i can transfer that info to my c drive where the software is installed. I am hoping to repair that since each time i do a backup when shutting down the computer it is a game of chance in locating my data. I hope I am not confusing the issue.
ALSO I have never had anything updated. It always says nothing new added since using any of the issues of QB.
Hello @brendalynne29,
Let me help share how you can create a backup copy of your company file using an external hard drive in QuickBooks Desktop.
Normally, it is recommended to create a backup copy of your company data by saving it from any of your local drives. Once done, you can copy or move it to your external hard drive.
On top of that, here's an article you can read to learn more about creating a backup copy of your company file: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
In the same manner, I've also included this reference for the steps you can take once you need to use the created backup copy: Restore your backup company file for QuickBooks Desktop.
