Buy nowHello,
I have had several error messages in the past few weeks that appear to be unresolvable, even after chatting with a QBO "expert." Just yesterday, after trying to solve an issue involving classes--a feature I've been using for well over 10 years--I was told that no class column in transactions is "how the system is designed." REALLY?!
I've wasted far too much time, and it seems a new error message pops up every other day. I don't have any bookkeeping clients at present, and I use QBO to handle my own small-business finances. Can anyone suggest a simple, stress-free method to track income and expenses and be able to sort by class?
Thanks in advance.
This is not the experience I want you to have, dvmason. I recognize that your time is valuable, and how vital it is to ensure your work proceeds smoothly and efficiently. I'm here to assist you in providing a method to effectively track your income and expenses, and to enable sorting by class.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you have the functionality to generate a detailed Profit and Loss by Class report. This allows you to track your income and expense transactions based on specific classes that you define within your business operations.
To run the report, please see the steps below:
For a detailed guide on how to review transactions by class, you can visit this article: Run reports by class.
Moreover, I'll add this reference to guide you in filtering information from your report that's most relevant to your business operations: Customize Reports In QuickBooks Online.
Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are committed to fixing this issue so you can focus on your tasks without any disruptions, dvmason. Whenever you assistance regarding classes, My team and I are here to back you up.
"I was told that no class column in transactions is "how the system is designed." REALLY?!"
It depends on what version of QBO you're using. Class tracking is only available in QBO Plus and QBO Advanced. If you're using one of those versions, I cannot think of a transaction that doesn't have a class column. You can assign classes either at the transaction level or at the line item level in Plus and Advanced.
