Anyone experiencing issues with Batch Import Checks' mapping? Print Later is mapping to Product/Service. I have to manually check "print later"

The question has it all. I'm selecting my Print Later column to map to Print Later, but QBO is showing it mapped to Product/Services and is therefore telling me there's an error (because "TRUE" is not a Product/Service). It's been broken for a few weeks now.

I'm here to ensure you can batch import mapping in QuickBooks Online, JMFS.

You'll need to ensure to review the file that you imported and make sure that the columns and data are correct. Otherwise, QuickBooks Online (QBO) won't be able to read your data. To resolve this, you can refer to this article: Fix errors when importing CSV.

If you got the same outcome, please perform the said task using a private browser or other supported window. This can help us determine if it's a browser-related issue due to the stored cache. Below are the shortcut keys you can use to access one:

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox  and Microsoft Edge
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari

Here are two additional links that can provide additional information about importing transactions: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around in case you need further help. Place a comment below, and I'll get back to you.

Thank you for responding, TirzahC.  My headings are indeed properly labeled, but I have to make a correction to your statement because they Don't have to labeled correctly.  The fields are mapped, meaning I could name the field Pink and if I map it to Amount it will still pull from my Pink column because I told it to (currently I have my amount column labeled Amt, but QBO uses Amount, but it doesn't matter because I tell QBO to pull the data from my Amt column).

I am using the correct format according to the sample.csv.  A value of "true" is present on my .csv, which is what the Intuit .csv indicates should be used (and worked at one point, but no longer).

QBO has the fields mapped incorrectly and a dev needs to correct it.  Please see my screenshots.  It can be seen that I do have Print Later mapped to Print Later (even though it doesn't matter - look at my Amount to Amt, yet the data pulled in).  You can see Every Product / Service error correlates Directly to the Print Later column and there are No check marks in Print Later, though my .csv has a value of "True" for each of those missing.  Product/Service is Not an option for mapping when importing the .csv so how is it getting mapped to if it's not an error on Intuit's side?  I don't have the ability to map to Product/Service - it's not available when importing.

I'm already doing all the things mentioned in the error fixing article.

Also, I Always use a private window because QBO is too finicky and causes problems if I don't use a private window.

Hello JMFS.

I understand that you need to import your checks to QuickBooks Online. I'd like to jump in and help you in fixing it.

I tried to import a CSV file and the Print Later column works fine. I suggest you review the file and follow the sample, especially with labeling to avoid errors.

If the same thing happens. it's best to seek some help from our Support Team so they can further investigate the root cause of this issue.

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "Import Check".
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.

You'll want to check the links below. This will explain more how to import data into QuickBooks Online.

I'm scratching my head over here.  You need to check with your development team because QBO has a function called Batch Transactions that I've been using for Months now.  It's a Quickbooks functionality, not a third party.  Please review the screenshot.  You are talking about a Completely different type of import.  The only third party app we use does not give us that functionality, it is 100% a Quickbooks function.

Batch Transactions allows users to import:  Expenses, Bills, Checks, Bank Deposits, and Sales Receipts.  I use Quickbooks Advanced.  I've already had this conversation with a CS Rep who all but called me a liar when I told him about Batch Transactions and he kept insisting I had a TPA.  Please don't make me go through that again.  When I called the Advanced team they were flabbergasted that the chat Rep didn't know about Batch Transactions.  Please, if you are unfamiliar with Quickbooks' Batch Transactions, ask a colleague, the dev team, or someone from the advanced team because I promise you, it is an Intuit / QB product and not a TPA.  It's an amazingly wonderful feature that was added sometime last year and the ability to import was released I believe the latter part of last year.  Unfortunately it's currently broken and needs to be fixed.
