Join nowHey guys,
I have been a QB bookkeeper for over 20 years and always used QB Pro. Several years ago I tried QB Online thinking it would be wonderful to just jump on anywhere I need to, but it was so different and definitely not up to the QB Pro standards. Also, I use a Mac but use parallels to still run QB windows because QB Mac didn't have 1/2 the options. Can anyone guide me as far as if there have been any changes and if they are more like QB desktop?
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for your interest with our program features, @skellerpope,
Finding the best product for your business is what we want for you. QuickBooks for Windows and QuickBooks for Mac are our desktop versions of our Intuit packages.
Our desktop features and processes are mostly similar. However, given that each edition uses different system requirements, there are some functions different from one another like for example its interface.
QuickBooks Pro is the basic version of our desktop software. To get to know more about the features you can enjoy with this program, compared to other desktop programs, see these links:
We also have a trial version you can try before purchasing the software. This way you'll have the actual experience of how QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Mac works. Use this article to install the program you want to test: Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop
Just in case, I'll also some links below for QuickBooks Online:
If you have any additional questions about the program, please tag me here. I'll be right here to help you with it. Have a nice day!
QB Desktop offers more features than QB Online. You may need an additional app to integrate with QB Online to have a similar function on QB Desktop (e.g assembly, multi warehouse). QB Desktop has similar features to QB Desktop Pro edition. Should you need more features, consider using QB Desktop Premier. You may get a one time license of QBD 2021 Premier for 1 user worth less than $500 thru a partner.
QuickBooks Desktop for Mac has continued to add features. There is more overlap but there are still some features that are only available on QuickBooks Desktop for Windows. Some that come to mind off the top of my head are multi currency, inventory assemblies, loans. I'm sure there are others. The Mac version doesn't work in the exact same way as QuickBooks Windows but it is similar. You can experiment with the Trial version which you can download on www.qblittlesquare.com.
