Buy nowI own QB Pro 2020 desktop. I have an Intuit PW and log in. On occasion I am asked to log into QB. The screen comes up, but the right side, where I would enter my credentials, just spins. I can cancel out and continue working, but I am concerned that one day it will not let me continue.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nancy
The login window inside QuickBooks functions like a built-in web browser. Because QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2020 has been discontinued, its internal browser struggles to connect to modern security servers, which causes the screen to spin.
Since you can bypass this window and work offline, your data remains completely safe. However, as internet security protocols advance, older software will struggle to connect to online services. We recommend backing up your QuickBooks company file to ensure your financial data stays protected.
To stop the screen from spinning during login, you can run the TLS 1.2 Readiness Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub to update your operating system. TLS 1.2 is an industry-standard internet security protocol. To ensure optimal security and stability, all QuickBooks Desktop connections accessing Intuit services must meet these system requirements.
You can also consider upgrading your desktop product to avoid service interruptions, receive the latest security updates, and maintain access to Intuit services and customer support.

Thanks Mirriam, appreciate your advice.
I have used QB for 30 years. I am now 78, and have no intention of moving to the on-line version, where I have to pay a monthly fee for use. My needs are simple and my version 2020 is perfect for me. I do back up regularly.
I was very disturbed with the push to on-line subscriptions. I think there are many people like me who like QB Pro and were happy buying a new version every year or two. I think Intuit should have sold licensing of the desktop pro product to a company that would have continued to support the product and offered annual upgrades for a one time fee. I imagine there are many people who would agree with me. Appreciate your response to my question.
Another option, you can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 to access your historical data for good.
