I have been having a frustrating situation, where QBO switches from our checking account to our savings account for seemingly no reason.
I never deposit directly into the savings account in the Bank Deposit screen, only our checking. but I do have both savings and checking linked to our QBO.
Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a fix where the user can specify what the default should be?
I understand how frustrating it can be to experience unexpected switches between your checking and savings accounts in the bank deposit, DB2. Let me share some insights about how bank deposit works in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In QBO, the program automatically follows your previous transactions and uses the default account that you used previously. It means that if you used your checking account in creating a bank deposit, this will be recorded and utilized as a default to another entry. With this, you might consider checking your account history to identify instances where other users may have mistakenly used the savings account for bank deposits. You can follow the steps below:
If no deposits are utilizing the savings account, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to see whether the issue is with the browser. In most cases, cache-induced browsers affect the program's performance. Let's start by accessing your QBO account through an incognito or private browser. See the keyboard shortcuts below:
If it works, you can clear the browser's cache. You may also use other supported browsers as an alternative.
For future convenience, you can explore these resources to assist you in recording your bank deposit to Undeposited Funds and managing them to ensure they appear in your Bank Deposit window:
Also, you can manually add transactions directly in an account register to save time if you're reviewing your chart of accounts and need to make a quick addition.

Thank you!
I have cleared the cache and I will continue to monitor.
