Can I delete a pay type that was created in error?

Welcome to Community, jeanmpw3.

 

Allow me to share some insights on how you can delete pay types in QuickBooks Online. 

 

Having the ability to delete pay types that you no longer need would be beneficial to keep your books tidy. 

 

Currently, there isn't an option to delete these pay types in QuickBooks Online. However, by unchecking the box next to these pay types, they'll no longer appear as an option when you run payroll. 

 

Let me show you how:

 

  1. Click the Employees tab on the left menu.
  2. Click the employee's name then, select the Pencil icon next to Pay.
  3.  Click the small pencil icon. 
  4. Uncheck any unnecessary pay types.
  5. Click Save.
