Hi there, Meg. You can create a backup of your QuickBooks Online account to have an additional copy of your data. Let me provide you with the steps in creating a copy.
If you're using QuickBooks Online Advanced, you can save a copy of your data manually.
However, if you are not using QuickBooks Online Advanced, you can consider exporting your data and saving it on your desktop or a flash drive.
Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon⚙ and in the TOOLS column, select Export data.
- Select the reason for exporting, then click Continue.
- In the Reports tab, set the date from the Pre-selected date ranges ▼ dropdown.
- Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by turning the switch on or off.
- Select Export to Excel.
- Click OK once done.

Please note that not all files can be exported. For more information and guidance, please see this article.
Additionally, if you want to know what happens to your QuickBooks account after cancellation, refer to this article for more information.
