Join nowHi again. I'm wondering if there is a way to see the previous amount billed on a progress invoice while I'm creating it. When I bring up the invoice I don't know how much I have left to bill for that item so I have to go into the previous invoice to see how much has been billed or run a report for that item. Is there a setting for this? Thanks.
Hello @benson Construction,
You can open the estimate and create an invoice for the remaining items of your progress invoicing.
Here's an article you can read to learn more about utilizing the progress invoicing feature: Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Online.
I've also added this link in case you need additional information and best practices to record your transactions: Income and Expenses for QuickBooks Online.

Thank you. However, I'm actually asking if there is a way to see previous amount billed while I am creating an invoice. My issue is that I may send several invoices for each item. I may bill 10%, then 30%, then 75%, then 100%. The problem I'm having is when I'm creating the invoice, I don't know how much has been billed up to that point without going back into the previous invoice for that particular item or running a report. Definitely a cumbersome exercise. QB desktop has all the information right there when you are creating the invoice. There is a previously billed amount along with total percentage billed so that you know not to bill for more than 100%. Anyway, if QBO doesn't have it I guess you can put this one in the feedback file.
Good evening, @benson Construction.
Currently, QuickBooks Online doesn't have a feature to see the previous amount billed on invoices. I know that this feature would be helpful for you and other business owners, so I'm going to leave Feedback to our engineers personally. Then it can be considered for future updates of our Online product. In the meantime, you can leave Feedback of your own by going to the Gear icon and pressing Feedback.
