@pamelawhitley78- you will need to first make sure that your desktop is under the permitted target limit for a migration to QBO, 350,000 or less. You are best of using a 3rd party service provider to do the actual migration and condense if required. PM if you need any recommendations.
Install the trial license of QBD 2020 and open your company file on it as suggested by ShiellaGraceA. Then you are able migrating to QBO from there.
