Can't import IIF files because of backup requirement

When I try to import IIF file, QB requires backup first; and when backing up QB hangs (see attached files).

Backing up QB files outside of IIF import works OK (like when closing QB file or quitting application) - the backup problem is only when trying to import IIF file

Can't import IIF files because of backup requirement

I'm glad to see you here today, mark725.

I want to make sure you're able to import IIF files in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

This unexpected behavior usually happens when the backup location is no longer accessible. What you can do is verify where you're company file is located. Rebooting your computer can also help resolve this problem.

If the issue persists, let's run the Verify/Rebuild Utility Tools which often detects and resolves any data issues within the company file. Follow the steps below:

To Verify Data:

  1. Go to File at the top.
  2. Choose Utilities from the drop-down option.
  3. Select Verify Data.

To Rebuild Data:

  1. Go to File and select Utilities from the drop-down option.
  2. Choose  Rebuild Data.

Once done, you can re-import IIF files into QuickBooks again.

Additionally, I've added this article for your reference on how to import or export info with QuickBooks Desktop: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.

This will get you on the right track. Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have any other questions about importing your IIF files into QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Have a good one.

Can't import IIF files because of backup requirement

Hi, I did import an LLF file from my bank and the software said it did the import. But I cant find the data. Normally  with a new account or credit card I get a window to name the imported account. But this window did not show up.
