Cannot open multiple tabs in QBO Desktop App

A few days ago the + button to open multiple tabs within the QBO desktop app for accountants stopped working.  This feature is described in this article: "Download and use the QuickBooks Online desktop app" in QB help and in multiple other items of Intuit propaganda.  I relied heavily on this feature. Is this happening to anyone else? If so, are they bringing it back? What on earth could the rationale be for taking away this incredibly useful functionality?  It is the only reason I use the app vs accessing QBO through a browser.
