Should it be this difficult? Hi there! I have gone through many/most of the steps of migrating a company file from QB online to QB desktop 2024 Premier. I finally got to the step of using the migrating tool and uploading the QBXML file to Quickbooks Desktop. But alas, when I look at the Desktop, no data was transferred. Not a bit! I did see that there was another way to do the transfer, which is to Export to Excel, which makes no sense to me (I don't need it to go to Excel, I need it to go to QB!).
Are there any workarounds? Other than starting from scratch?
I have heard that some people have done the Export multiple times and that may have helped.
ALSO, for some reason, the program OneDrive by Microsoft (which came with the computer - we didn't sign up for it) is starting to "delete" files. I'm freaking out a bit because many of those files are ones that are related to my QB Export job. So is that what is messing things up?
Please someone help. I am dealing with this all day. Thank you for your time and assistance!!!!

We always use QBD 2021 to convert data. This version is the most stable compared to newer versions. You can use the trial version of QBD 2021 Pro.

Thank you for your idea. Our accounting firm actually has many past versions of the QB software - I am thinking of first doing the conversion on our own software then transferring it to the client's computer. I am so tired of going into circles with it all! I am trying to avoid calling/contacting QB tech support because it is hit or miss with the assistance and I'm short on time. Wish me luck!!
I actually ended having Quickbooks tech support contact me. I was very pleasantly surprised at how dedicated and helpful they were. It was complicated to do this whole process, and it's much better to have the tech support on the phone (especially since there were lots of bumps along the way with some QB error messages). They escalated the issue several times and followed up when they said they would. I was very much taken care of. In the end, it was a success!
