Buy nowI need to change my customer jobs heirarchy. What will this do to past job-costing data? ie:
* cust
*cust A
* cust A contract 1
*term 1
*term 2
*cust A contract 2
*term 1
*term 2
I need "cust A contract 2" to be under "cust." Also, "cust A" shouldn't even be there (I can worry about that later). So, if I have data entered from 2020/2021/2022 under the path "cust/cust A/cust A contract 2", when I change the "contract 2" to be under "cust," will my past data change also? Or will I need to either change the data in past records (mostly checks written), or choose to run 2 reports, one for the old path and one for the new path ("cust/cust A contract 2")?
Good evening, @DonnaKay1.
It's great to see a new face here in the Community. Allow me to give you some information on your question about customers.
The data will change on reports because the information shows under a different customer. This can also break connection between some transaction if it's not all under just the one customer.
If you do decide to take this route, I recommend double checking customer balances, A/R reports, and reconciliation afterward.
I hope this helps answer your question. I'm only a post away if you have any other questions. Have a great day!
Thank you, Candice, I appreciate your taking the time to answer!
