Buy now & saveJust curious .... I am currently a level 6. If I were to change positions or company affiliation, how to I retain my "level" when I have a new address? I have used QB Desktop for some years at multiple organizations, and I have no idea what my "level" would be if all my historical activity was in one place. It seems I should have used a personal email address & name, but alas, "too soon old, too late schmart".
Is there a place where I can change my profile so at least now my level will go with me wherever I go?
Hello there, Deadwood Al.
I'd like to know if you're an accountant at your current organization, and you're looking to transition to a new company while retaining this same level?
It would be helpful if you could specify your concern so I'll be able to assist you further.
For more information on how to set up as an External Accountant user in QuickBooks Desktop, read this article: Set Up an External Accountant User in QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, learn how to create or connect an Intuit Account to your QuickBooks Desktop company file. I've got this article for your guide: How to Access QuickBooks Desktop Files with One Intuit Account.
Let me know if you have any other concerns or if you're referring to something else with the one I mentioned above. Please know, I'm always here to assist you further. Have a nice day!
Yes, I am an accountant at a current location, and my wife and I are planning on starting a bookkeeping service. I have many years experience with various Desktop versions, including Enterprise, and QB payroll, and we are working on QBO certification. I am currently driving around 50 miles (1 way) and look forward to working remote from home offices. I am currently a Level 6, only because each time I started a new employer I started over with Community Forum. I should have asked how to transfer and retain my level years ago, but ...
So does that help?
Thanks for checking back with us, @Deadwood Al.
You can change your Community profile email without affecting your level. I'm including some steps to walk you through the process below.
That should do the trick. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns about this process. I'm happy to help. Take care!
Is it possible to "merge" one account into another. The email address I want to use is already used in my home account, it is at a much lower level.
In the QuickBooks Community, you can only change your email or name to your current account to retain your level, Deadwood. I'll explain more details below.
The option to merge one account into another in QuickBooks Community is unavailable, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague above on how to update or change your info without affecting your level.
Moreover, you can check this article for assistance with QuickBooks or to learn how expert QuickBooks users can offer help: QuickBooks Q&A.
Let me know if you have questions about managing your account in QuickBooks Community. I'm here to help.
I did as described in the first response, and yesterday I was unable to sign in under either new or old email ... it just kept going in a loop back to the "Community Home Page" which really seems more like a sales pitch rather than the Community. I am responding here by signing in to my old email address/login name. So again, either the solution provided by the QuickBooks Team doesn't work, or the solution description was incorrect, or ?????
So what do you suggest now?????
I appreciate you for bringing this to our attention, @Deadwood Al. Based on the details you've provided, it appears there may be some interference from your browser's stored data. To resolve this issue, I recommend accessing your account using incognito mode or a private browsing window. Here’s how to do that:
You can open a private window using these keyboard shortcuts:
If your website operates correctly in incognito mode, the next step is to clear your cache from your regular browser to eliminate any outdated files. Additionally, consider accessing the site using a different supported browser for better results.
If you're experiencing any difficulties signing in to your Intuit Account, I recommend checking out the article Recover your Intuit Account. This resource is especially useful if you've forgotten your password or are encountering other login issues. It's designed to help you regain access to your account smoothly.
Furthermore, it's important to prioritize the security of your account information to protect yourself against potential threats. A great resource for this is the article Business Do and Don'ts: Tips for keeping customer information safe | Intuit Security Center.
