I use Quickbooks Pro. I want to clean sweep accounts payable, accounts receivable and start fresh. I don't want to loose any of my customers, memorized transaction lists, chart of accounts.
I just want to start from "0" with no ap or ar from past entries. Is their an easy way to do this?
I can help you with starting fresh in QuickBooks Desktop, @eaglehangars.
You can create a new company file to start fresh. Then, export your customers and chart of accounts from this old company file to the new one.
Please take note that not all lists and transaction types can be exported and imported to your company file. Check out this article for more information: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.
Export your lists one at a time to prevent issues caused by exporting very long lists. Here's how:
Once done, you can now create a new company file.
Here's more information on how to create a new company file and the two setup options available: Create a QuickBooks Desktop company file.
On this new company file, make sure that you are logged in as the Administrator and you are in single-user mode to start importing the list that you've exported from the old company file.
See this guide for detailed guidance on how to export and import your lists and transactions: Export lists from the old company file into a new data file. This will also show you the correct order when importing the lists.
From here, refer to this article for more information on how to enter an opening balance for a bank, credit card, and other types of accounts to this new company file: Enter opening balances for accounts in QuickBooks Desktop.

Hello community members -
I have QUICKBOOKS DESKTOP PRO PLUS 2022.
I have created a new company file recently.
I transferred CHART OF ACCOUNTS and VENDOR LISTING using IIF files from company A to B.
Will transfer CUSTOMER LISTING in a breeze since I know how it works.
My question is - IS THERE A SIMPLE/SIMILAR WAY to transfer MEMORIZED TRANSACTION LIST just like I did import export of COA and VENDORS ?
Thank you all.
The option to import/export the memorized transaction list isn't available. I understand how the workflow you're looking for is beneficial to your business.
