I am closing down a business and would like a full back-up in case of an audit. I worked with QB, upgraded to QB Advanced, per QB, and nobody can tell me how to access the back-up. QB then suggested I do a local back-up to my google drive which takes all of 2 minutes and does not show up in my google drive.
How do I get a back up to protect myself from a possible audit.
Hi there, @sking2.
I understand the importance of keeping a company file for future audit purposes. I'm here to help you resolve the error you encountered in QuickBooks Online.
To begin, I recommend disconnecting and reconnecting your Dropbox account. Then, see if there is any existing data in the folder. If there aren't any, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account through a private browser to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue because private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.
To open a private browser, follow these steps:
Once done, Make a one-time backup manually to save everything. You can perform a manual backup at any time.
Here's how:
Furthermore, when linking an account, you can save and schedule backups to Dropbox or Google Drive. Check out this article for your guide: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced company.
In addition, if you facing the same problem, I recommend contacting our support team to investigate the error further.
Let me know what the results are so I can look for other ways to resolve this. I'll be waiting for your response. Have a great rest of your day.
As an additional option, export your data to a QB Desktop file format.
