creating letters and excel export function is not working.

I'm receiving this message "Microsoft word cannot be found" when trying to print collection letters. QB 2023 desktop version. Export to excel is also not working.  I have Microsoft 365. It used to work properly.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Elm.

I've got steps so you can get rid of the "Microsoft word cannot be found" message. This way, I'll ensure that you can print collection letters correctly and use the Excel export function efficiently.

One of the steps to resolve the issue you encountered is to make sure you have the most recent release for Microsoft Office. Since you already confirmed that you have the latest one or 365, I suggest updating your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. This way, you always have the latest features, fixes, and product improvements.

Here's how:

  1. Select Update available then choose Install now to install the update.
  2.  Sit back and relax while the update is being installed. It might take a while for the update to be installed.
  3. Open QuickBooks once the update is installed.

For additional processes and details, you can refer to this article: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Lastly, feel free to check our articles if you need help managing your data in QuickBooks Desktop Accountant. We have just about anything ranging from handling your customers to paying your taxes. Browse them in the general help page (select a topic first then look for an article).

You can always get back to me in case you have other questions or concerns about print collection letters in QBDT. I’m always around to help, Elm. Have a good one!
