You can edit the amount of your opening balance entry to correct the balance of your credit card account.

1. Go to Lists.
2. Select Chart of Accounts.
3. Find and open your credit card account.
4. Select your opening balance entry transaction.
5. Enter the correct balance of your credit card account.
6. Click Save.

Hello I have for Mac 2016 and can do 1, 2, and 3 of your list but stuck on #4. Do not see it. Can you assist? No idea why the beginning balance changed because I did not alter anything to make that happen. Thanks.

You're already on the right track. You should be on the account register by following Steps 1-3. For Step 4, the transaction we're looking for is likely bank deposit or a journal entry with an affected account of Opening Bal Equity.

Another way to find the bank deposit or journal entry is by following these steps:

1. Click Lists at the top menu and look for the Opening Bal Equity account.
2. Double-click on the account to open the register. 
3. From there, look for the bank deposit or journal entry whose affecting account the credit card that we want to correct.
4. Then, you can continue changing the amount.
5. Save and confirm the changes.
