Hello, Rvbob. I can help you get rid of the error message.

QuickBooks error 3371 is caused when QB is unable to load license data. Below are some of the specific cases when users might encounter QuickBooks 3371 series errors.

  • Certain QuickBooks files like qbregistration.dat cannot be accessed or are damaged.
  • The Microsoft MSXML file is unable to execute.
  • The license information cannot be retrieved or validated.

To fix the error, please follow the solutions I've outlined below:

Solution 1: Delete ecml file

  1. Press Windows + R together from your keyboard.
  2. Enter this path C:\ProgramData\intuit\Entitlement Client\v8 in the window.
  3. Next, Windows Explorer will open with the above address.
  4. Now, delete ecml file. After that, close the window.
  5. Finally, you have to Run QuickBooks and Register the item again.’

For more information, please check our detailed guide: How to Fix QuickBooks Error 3371.

Feel free to get back to me if you have additional questions. I'm here to help.

I appreciate you for joining the thread, @ArtB1. Now that I'm here, I'll help you get through this so you can successfully install and access QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) on your end.

Before we do so, know that I recognize the urgency of this matter. I recommend using the QuickBooks Tool Hub feature to get this sorted out. I'll gladly input the steps below so you can proceed. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be on the bottom.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

In case you can't find the icon, you can do a search in Windows for QuickBooks Tool Hub and then click the program to access.

Also, feel free to visit this article for more information: Fix license, validation, and registration errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

Since you're using an old version of QuickBooks, know that we can't guarantee that the troubleshooting will go through and help fix the error.

Additionally, I've got you this article to help you manage payments in QBDT: Take and process payments in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can also check this page to learn more on how you can track the money in and out: Track your cash flow in QuickBooks Desktop.

@ArtB1, our door is open 24/7 in case you need further assistance with this. You can also post here again if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. I'll be more than happy to help you out again. Take care, and have a nice day.

I have already downloaded QB Tool Hub...ver 1.6.0.0. I selected Istallation Issues and clicked on 3371 Error Fix.

This just gives a progress bar that keeps scrolling indefinitely. Support says that this tool will no longer support QB 2019 and earlier versions. I wonder if there is an earlier QB Tool Hub available?

Hi there, @ArtB1. I'm here to provide additional steps to help you get rid of the error and sign in to your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account seamlessly.

Currently, you can only download the latest version of QuickBooks Tool Hub. To further help you fix the error, you can uninstall and reinstall your QBDT 2017 account instead. Before doing this, ensure that you have a backup copy of the recent company data. This will be restored once the installation is finished.

Also, make sure to have a handy copy of your license number and product code to avoid unnecessary delays in the process. Once ready, follow the steps below:

  1. Access the Windows Start menu and search for Control Panel and open it.
  2. Next, select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. Then, in the list of installed programs, choose the QBDT 2017 version.
  4. Click Uninstall/Change. Then, select Remove.
  5. Select Next. Sign out and sign in again to Windows as an admin if you don't see this option.

When done, reinstall the program.

I've also got this helpful article for guidance in restoring your company file: Restore your file.

Please let me know how this goes. I'm always here ready to provide further assistance to help you sign in to your QBDT account. Have a good day ahead and take care.

@jnbryant

How did you install your QB program on your machine. Did you use the disc or the downloaded installer file?

I'm here to help you resolve the error code 1335, @jnbryant

QuickBooks Error 1335 implies that the cabinet file (data1.cab) required for ongoing installation is either corrupt or damaged. The cabinet file (2) is also not usable. It can be a Microsoft Windows error that occurs during the accounting software update or while repairing its installation.

To fix this error, consider these solutions:

  • Ensure that your software CD has no scratches or dust as they can cause issues in reading.
  • Gently clean the CD and try installing it again.
  • Installation issues usually arise due to insufficient installation memory settings on your system.
  • Check the system requirements of your computer for QuickBooks accounting software installation and refer to the MS knowledge base for details on changing these settings.
  • Temporarily disable some software and anti-virus software during the installation process.

Please know that QuickBooks Desktop 2013 is already unsupported. If the issue persists, you may consider contacting an IT professional to help you.

You'll want to upgrade your company files to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop. This way, new patches and fixes will be available for you moving forward.

To move your company files around, refer to this article for the detailed steps: Move your company files to another computer.
