I am unable to customize data layout on statement footers. I open statements, select template, customize and nothing. If I select another statement, I receive New Default Template Detected box QB detected a new default template for this stmt charge. Do you want to use the new template, Annual_Assessment on this transaction? if you choose No, the new default template will be used next time you create a new transaction. I was on line for several hrs last night with T2 and was told I had to upgrade, which I did. Still unable to customize. Now I'm waiting for T3. Anyone else have this on Desktop QB Pro 2020 or 2022?

Thank you for the response. Actually, I was able to determine how to correct via Lists, Templates, and selected the template. I've never made changes to the statement footers this way, but it worked. So my question now is should I be able to make corrections via Customers, Create Statements, select template, customize, customize data layout? This is how I have previously made changes.
I appreciate the effort that you’ve spent in correcting the templates, @TLoy.
You have the option to make corrections via Customers. You can modify and add specific information to your forms through the Customize feature.
In case you encounter issues, you can utilize the QuickBooks Verify and Rebuild Data tools. It identifies data problems within your company file while resolving them right away. If the issue continues, you may consider contacting our support again.
I’ve attached an article that provides instructions about personalizing email templates and using them to send messages from QuickBooks: Create custom email templates in QuickBooks Desktop.

Because this features cleverly uses browser windows instead of standard application windows (which would work without issue), it's probably another issue related to the embedded browser Intuit recently wrote and included in QuickBooks updates - to replace Internet Explorer at the last possible moment, even though MS announced its end of support date over a year ago.
Exact same problem here. As usual, the support response was useless but thank you for the Lists, Templates hint. This definitely looks like a problem with the silly embedded browser. I knew there had to be another way to get to the Customize page but just couldn't find it.
Still unable to change the statement RE: line for customers as they do not have the same issue. The customize data button is no longer active. Going through List/templates etc did not work. What do I do?
RE: Still unable to change the statement RE: line for customers as they do not have the same issue.
What's the "statement RE: line"? Is this related to the OP's question about the footer? Seems different.
RE: Going through List/templates etc did not work.
Why not? Did you get an error message? Something different?
