Buy nowThis doesn't happen very often, but if I'm working late, or otherwise have to leave hurriedly, I'll leave a company file open. Doesn't concern me, as I work alone, at home, and nobody has the p.w. to my system after it times out. Just annoying when I come it and QB doesn't recognize that it's the next day and adds the previous day's date on all transactions. The only way to really know this is if you open up your bank account and get the blue line that denotes future transactions. Given that QB's always "phoning home", you'd think that it would pick this up. Any solutions, other than kill the file and reopen it?

I appreciate you for reaching out to us, @knoxfarm2020. Let's perform some troubleshooting procedures to ensure your transactions reflect the correct date in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
I recognize the inconvenience when the program is unable to detect the accurate date on transactions when working overnight. In some cases, these are brought on by issues with your computer or how QBDT interacts with your system.
First, let's isolate the issue by opening a sample company file and observing the behavior of the system.
If the problem persists, I recommend utilizing the QuickBooks Tool Hub to resolve common system issues. Before doing so, ensure your QBDT is updated to its latest release.
Refer to these steps on how to install the tool hub:
For more details, please see this link: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
Additionally, I recommend creating a backup of your company file regularly so you can restore it when encountering errors in QBDT.
Feel free to reach out to us anytime if you need further help to resolve your date issues on transactions. I'll be more than willing to return and offer assistance. Stay safe and have a nice day ahead.
I will get to your suggestions as time permits. As I said, it's a rare occurrence and more of an annoyance than anything. As for your suggestions, my QB is set to auto-update, so that's a non-issue and I make daily backups locally on an external drive as well as on Carbonite.
