Buy nowI have QuickBooks Desktop 2016.
I have bought Saasnet Desktop version to import and export my transactions.
I have a September backup and a December backup file. My accountant has done alot of backdated entries in October and November, which are hitting the periods to September. I am now restored the September backup, export all transactions and lists from the month of October and November via saasnet. And started importing them one by one via saasnet as well. I have been successful in importing most of the GL transactions types except 'Deposits'.
I am getting the following error on Deposits:
"There is an invalid reference to QuickBooks Account "670000-1029377429" in the Deposit line.. QuickBooks error message: Only QuickBooks can make deposits from Undeposited Funds."
I can see, when I imported the Journal entries that there is a deposit in my undeposited but its not being cleared to my bank account has I can't import the Deposit file due to the above error. Any solution to this please?
Use the trial version of TP Importer to isolate problem. Did you encounter the same problem?

Hello there, @asid.
I understand your need to import and export your transactions in QuickBooks. I'd be glad to assist you with this.
It appears that the issue may be related to the way Saasnet is handling the deposit import process. To resolve this, I recommend checking the mapping and settings within Saasnet to ensure that the deposits are being imported correctly. Additionally, you may need to review the format of the deposit file being imported to ensure it aligns with QuickBooks' requirements.
If the problem persists, we can make use of the verify and rebuild tools to identify and resolve the most common issues in a company file.

Keep me in the loop if you have further queries about importing and exporting deposits in QBDT. I'll be around to help you all the way.
Thanks @4Gal. Even with TP importer, I am getting the same problem. Exported one transaction as test via TP Exporter and then tried to import the same and got this message
"Deposits QuickBooks: There is an invalid reference to QuickBooks Account "1499" in the Deposit line.. QuickBooks error message: Only QuickBooks can make deposits from Undeposited Funds."
Unfortunately the solution you have mentioned doesn't work. As there is no problem with the file itself. And there is nothing to rebuild here. I am having trouble importing the deposits file. I tried with Transaction Pro as well and giving me the same error that it might be a limitation with QBs or perhaps a setting issue that needs to be tweaked?
"Only QuickBooks can make deposits from Undeposited Funds"
Thanks
Hi there, @asid.
You can verify and check the deposit accounts entered in the file and change them to undeposited funds.
However, if the problem persists, you can always reach out to our support team for further assistance.
Additionally, you can find this supplementary article helpful in importing or exporting information: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.
Please feel free to return to this thread if you have any other concerns besides importing your deposit files. I'm here to help.
I have over 600 cheques in my undeposited, which are not moving to bank with the import option. It is unfeasible the solution you mentioned to go one by one and clear them.
Does the QB Desktop 2016 version have an option to export deposits in csv. excel or IIF file and then import it back?
Secondly, if I import the deposits as a general journal transaction, would this work and clear the cheque?
It's nice to see you returning to this thread, @asid.
In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), we're unable to export deposits, but we can import them into the program. Before doing so, back up your company file so you can use it to restore your data when you encounter issues during the process.
Here's how to import IIFs:
Please note that importing IIF files does not automatically link transactions. Therefore, you'll have to manually match the deposits with the checks to clear them out.
For more details about the process, check out this reference: Export, import, and edit IIF files.
I understand that this feature is crucial to streamline the process of clearing out your checks. For now, I recommend submitting feedback to our software developers so they can consider incorporating your feature request in our future product enhancements.
Additionally, it's highly recommended to reconcile your accounts to ensure your transactions correspond with those on the bank statement.
Keep me posted on your further concerns by replying to this post. I'll get back to you as soon as possible to provide additional assistance. Take care, and have a good one.
Hi @asid there isn't a way to export out the Deposits from QuickBooks in the format you need ie CSV, Excel or IIF. However, there are data import and export utilities that work with QuickBooks that you can find many of them listed in the Apps for QuickBooks Desktop catalog
For example with Zed Axis you can export out using filters the Deposits that you want to reclassify into an Excel sheet where you can use to easily update the data that you want to change using copy and paste. Then you can reimport the updated transaction data back into QuickBooks and update the existing transactions in batch.
Hopefully that gives you another possible soluition to your issue.
