Alternatively, you can download a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac to continue. Then, restore your backup file in the trial account.
- Double-click the backup file which opens a new window with a copy of your company file. If there are attachments in the backup, you'll see an Attachments Library folder.
- Drag the company file copy to your QuickBooks company folder. If there's an Attachments Library, drag that folder to the same location. To avoid overwriting an existing company file, move the backup copy to a different folder.
- Open QuickBooks for Mac trial version.
- Click Browse and navigate to the folder where you stored the company file copy. Choose the company file and click on Open.
- A prompt lets you know that you are opening a backup file. Select Continue.
- Enter a name for the company file, then Save.
- Hit OK.
After that, you can now import your QBDT company file into QuickBooks Online.
