As I know QB Desktop doesn't support to run on tablets natively. You need a 3rd party solution to do so.

Have you used QBDT on a surface pro? I’m looking into it for my business. I’m on the road for my work and it would be great if I could use QBDT while out and about. I’m don’t want to migrate to QBO.

You need to set up a simple private cloud on your premise. You will access your QB Desktop on the browser on your Surface Pro.
