does a disputed payment at first but then eventually deposited can be just an off set payment and not really an income?

Disputed payment that was deposited later on will be recorded as income once received, Camile.

In QuickBooks, a disputed payment that is eventually deposited should be recorded as an income to accurately reflect the receipt of funds in your financial records. On the other hand, to properly account for the dispute charge, you'll need to record it as an expense.

Moreover, you can run financial reports such as the Balance sheet and Profit and Loss report to view your company's revenue, costs, and expenses over a period.

I'll keep this thread open for any more questions or concerns about a disputed payment that was deposited into your account. The Community is here to help you whenever you need it.
