Any help would be greatly appreciated as I just spent over an hour on the phone with a very nice person from Intuit's Enterprise dept. who ultimately told me that they do not support advanced inventory and referred me to a 3rd party service provider. This would be a question for someone who is familiar with both the "old" Sales order fulfillment worksheet (I will call SOFW) vs. the "new" advanced inventory sales order fulfillment worksheet (I will call AISOFW). We use QuickBooks Enterprise Manufacturing and Wholesale 20.0.
In the AISOFW, Do I have to invoice items before they will become unavailable for subsequent orders?
I ask this because in the original SOFW, as you choose sales orders that you want to fulfill, the fulfillable column would update in real time letting you know if subsequent orders are fulfillable and how many of each inventory item is still unallocated. In the screenshot below, I have circled 3 areas that update in real time as I select shipping orders for the day:
In the AISOFW I can not find any real time updates as I select orders for shipping. It looks like I could send many more items out for shipping than are available to ship without any feedback from the worksheet. I have tried sending all of a certain item's available quantity for pick/pack as well as marking it shipped. Just short of invoicing the sales order, the worksheet shows the item as still available for shipping.
Thanks

Hello there, Jack53,
I'd like to clarify first that advanced inventory is supported. However, the unallocated or real-time update on unallocated item is no longer available.
In the new sales order fulfillment worksheet, you can still see the available items on the Available column. You're right, not unless you create an invoice, the system will still show these items as available.
Check out this article for more information: Set up Advanced Inventory.
Let me know if you have additional questions. I'll be right here to help.
We don't want you to feel this inconvenience, @Jack53.
We can’t recommend a specific app. However, I can help you find one. You can find apps that works perfectly with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise by going to this article: Apps for QuickBooks Desktop.
I'll definitely pass along your experience. Our engineers make improvements by listening to our customers' suggestions and comments.

Thank you for the response, that clarifies it for me. Please let me know how to submit a request for real time allocation of inventory in the new worksheet? I am curious, how can I properly send out dozens of daily orders for shipping without knowing at what point (in my list of orders) that an order could not be fulfilled completely?
To be frank, we invested significant $'s in Enterprise Platinum with advanced inventory to improve the workflow of daily shipping but the addition of a few bells and whistles (app functionality and multiple inventory sites) does not offset the loss of real-time inventory allocation within the worksheet.
I will be disabling the advanced worksheet and hope to hear of an update at some point.
I appreciate your time getting back here, Jack53.
For sending a request about the feature, you can follow these steps:
To check for newly added features, go to Help > New Features > What's New.
With regard to sending out daily orders, you'll want to leave the To Fulfill Qty field blank in the Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet page. I've got a sample screenshot below for reference.
I'm just a post away if you have any additional questions or other concerns. Take care and stay safe.

If the feature is critical to your business, you should explore an inventory maangement app
Do you have a suggestion for an inventory management app that I could use? Unfortunately, I have expended my budget for the year in upgrading to Enterprise Platinum (specifically for improved inventory management).
I feel bad for complaining so much regarding this situation but my level of frustration is pretty high. After converting our file permanently to a subscription based version we find a net loss in inventory features for our company.
There should be a clear warning on the sales side of QB advanced inventory that real-time allocation of inventory is lost when upgrading. Hopefully this post can provide key information for customers considering the jump from pro to enterprise platinum with advanced inventory.

There is a developer of inventory management app may help you to put this function as a custom request with an extra cost. You may consider downgrading to QBES Silver or Premier edition with a one time license to offset the cost. Check our profile and send your email address in a private message to us. We will introduce you and you may negotiate directly.
