E-file 1099

I was told by an Intuit rep that I am unable to e-file 1099s for my QBO client unless that client also uses QB Payroll.  Does anyone know if this is correct?

E-file 1099

I appreciate you visiting the Community, Lisa_S.

I'll share information that could help you file the 1099's for your clients.

If you're using your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company, you can e-file 1099 forms without requiring your clients to have a payroll subscription. All you have to do is invite your client as a contractor so they can create an account and provide their tax information.

However, your client must have a payroll or contractor payment subscription if you need to file their 1099 within their QBO account.

On the other hand, to help you file 1099s online, visit this website for the features, plans, and pricing: File Your 1099 E-file Online | QuickBooks.
