Enhanced Inventory Receiving (EIR) not separating item receipts from bills

We just turned on Enhanced Inventory Receiving (EIR) because its says that it "separates item receipts from bills" but that doesn't appear to work.

 

The Item receipts still disappear when you click on the "Bill Received" button and turn it into a bill.

 

Is anyone else having this issue? is there something else that needs to be done to make this work?

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community, kstweart. Just to clarify, there are some restrictions with Enhanced Inventory Receiving. Could you verify if any of these apply:

 

  • You cannot enter negative items in Item Receipts or Bills.
  • You cannot enter expenses on an Item Receipt.
  • If you create a Purchase Order for non-inventory Items, you must receive them with an Item Receipt to close the PO.
  • You can no longer mark items as "Billable" on Item Receipts.

my questions has nothing to do with any of the restrictions you've listed.

Note the following information listed on the quickbooks website:

We've installed EIR and it DOES NOT separate item receipts from bills.

 

clicking on the "Bill Received" button deletes the item receipt and replaces it with a bill.

  2. Select Rebuild Data. QuickBooks will prompt you to do a backup before rebuilding your company file. Pick OK.
