I've got you, @brooke050870. I'm happy to outline the detailed steps to add transactions manually in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Simple Start. It only takes a few clicks, and you'll be a pro in no time!
You have two options to record your husband's invoice in the system. The first option is to follow the accounts receivable process (Invoice➡, Received payments ➡ Bank Deposit). Check out these articles for complete instructions:
The second option is to create Sales Receipts to expedite the process. Proceed as follows:
- Go to the Plus icon and select Sales Receipts.
- Pick the customer from the Customer dropdown. Note: If you haven't set them up in QuickBooks yet, select Add a new customer.
- Choose the appropriate account in the Deposit to dropdown.
- Enter the sales information such as Product/services, Descriptions, Amount, etc.
- Click Save or Save and Send.

For meals and fuels, I'd recommend recording them using Check or Expenses if they are expenditures.
