We have a large amount of users using the QB Enterprise and many get the Error #503 and Error#12002 on their automatic updates...... Even the server has this issue.
It has been like this for months. What is going on?
Experiencing technical issues while revamping software for months could make you wonder about its cause, and I'm here to share the possible causes and guide you on how to fix them to help you update the program successfully, @wilcoqb.
Your users might experience Error 12002 due to issues with internet connectivity and security. QuickBooks may have trouble connecting to the internet, or an antivirus or firewall program is blocking the update process. To prevent this, let's check your connection and settings. Since the system uses Internet Explorer to access the net, it should be set as the default browser. Next, download and run the TLS 1.2 Utility to confirm that you can access a secure web review of your browser settings.
QuickBooks offers a Tool Hub for setting up and repairing network security and personal firewalls. If you prefer manual configuration, follow these steps:

Please note that the first two guides are the same as the reference provided in the troubleshooting for error 12002.

Thanks I will take a look at some of this. Internet Explorer is a big no no... Our security team will absolutely NOT allow internet explorer to be the default for very obvious security reasons. That is banned within our organization. And quite frankly I do have some users without issues. In our organization group policies manage all of the computers and they are installed by image so it makes no sense that some users can and some cannot update.
I asked support yesterday if they could let me know the server address (URL etc) where QB gets updates so that we could add it to the firewall as a "safe" option, but support was not able to tell me that.
