Buy nowI understand QBO still does not have Inventory by Expiry Date, I have a client in the medical/pharma industry, and this is very important information.
If QBO can't do this - can someone recommend a potential 3rd Party App or solution to address this.
Kind Regards,
MZ
They released the expiration date feature in the new QB Desktop 2023 Enterprise. If you use QBO, having a third party inventory management app is inevitable. One app starts at $67/month for 3 users and another app starts at $109/month for 5 users + 3 mobile phones (for barcode and other mobile features). Which do you prefer to explore? Contact me in private and I will introduce you to one of them.

I know how essential it is for you and your client to track inventory by expiry date. At the moment, that feature is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. However, you can manually add the batch number and expiry date under the product name when creating an inventory.
You can also look for 3rd-party applications to help you track them by expiry date. Here's how:

Hi! Did you find a solution for this? I am in a similar situation. My client will be calculating the loss - the medicine left in the vial after expiration - and we are looking for a way to record that her supplies were lost at a certain point. I don't think the built in inventory app as it is in QBO is appropriate. Thanks!!

I can see that this option is a crucial feature for any business. As mentioned by my colleague above, this is currently unavailable.
As an alternative, you can visit our Apps store and look for a third-party app that integrates well with QBO and lets you track inventory by expiry dates. You can refer to the steps shared by JaeAnnC above.
Then, you can suggest submitting a product suggestion directly to our software engineers. We're taking notes of your ideas and insights.
