Good morning.
Does anyone have any experience with this scenario?
I have the most recent updated version of QB desktop and Excel 4.0.
We have set up Positive Pay with our bank. The bank requires the file format to be imported to be a comma delimited file, which I think is the .csv file format.
I can create the QB check report, export it to excel in the .csv file format.
In excel I have to edit the date format to a custom mmddyyyy, which I can do, and remove the negative sign in the amount column. All done, then when I try to save, I get a message to let me know I can't save it in the .csv file format, I need to choose a macro-enabled file type. If I select save anyway, my changes are not saved.
I have gone round and round.
I am not an Excel user, much less skilled enough to figure this out.
So, can anyone help me?

Are you sure you have Excel 4.0? That's a truly ancient version of Excel.
In any case, to easily create a positive pay file for your bank, you can use our BRC PositivePay file Creator - QB Desktop It integrates with QuickBooks and appears on the QuickBooks menu. It will then create positive pay files with just a few clicks, automatically pulling your check details from your QuickBooks file (or files, as multiple files are supported).
If your bank isn't directly supported (about 160 banks are), you may be able to use its feature to define your own format, or - on request - we can probably add your bank the list after reviewing their file requirements.
