Buy nowI am looking to stop using fixed asset manager since we have been having some issues with it and cannot get assistance. We use Desktop/QBE, can we just stop using it by not opening it? Do we need to delete it? I want to be sure it does not create any entries going forward.
Thanks for reaching out to the Community, DP108. I appreciate your detailed information.
There's a couple options for disabling Fixed Asset Manager (FAM) in QuickBooks. I'd recommend utilizing both options. Most importantly, you'll want to confirm you've disabled automatic Automatic Synchronization. By setting it to manual, you'll stop receiving automated synced data from FAM.

The next time you open it, your automatic sync will no longer trigger. You'll only be able to perform manual syncs.
You can also use the Edit drop-down in QuickBooks and go to Preferences. From here, you can access Integrated Applications, then its Company Preferences. In your list of applications, there will be an option for QuickBooks Fixed Asset Manager. You can uncheck Allow Access and select OK. This will disconnect FAM from your company file by removing its access.
I've also included a couple detailed resources about working with QuickBooks FAM which you may find useful moving forward:
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful Friday!
Thank you for your response. we will give it a try.
