I have QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus - Professional Services Edition annual subscription. It has gotten way too expensive so I want to look into downgrading.
Has anyone done this? If so, what are the pitfalls?
Does the data file migrate to the lower version without losing data?
QB Desktop Pro Plus and Premier Plus use the same data file structure. There is no conversion process between the 2 of them. I would recommend to purchase a new license of QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus via @Fiat Lux - ASIA to get these following benefits:
1. You can get $100 cashback
2. You'll run QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus to learn how it works. If you decide to stay with Premier, you don't have to bother asking Intuit for a refund and you just need to renew your Premier Plus license later.
I'm cognizant of the fact that every penny counts, Dennis. It's my pleasure to provide you with information regarding the process of downgrading your current edition of QuickBooks Desktop Premier to the Pro Plus edition.
Yes, you can transfer data between Premier and Pro versions without altering the data and vice versa. Accessing your company file to a newer QuickBooks version (year) is possible, but you can't use the upgraded file in an older version.
For instance, if your file was opened in QuickBooks Premier Plus 2023, you can access it in QuickBooks Pro Plus 2023 or upgrade it to QuickBooks Pro Plus 2024 without losing data.
You can refer to this link for more detailed information: Company files compatibility with QuickBooks Desktop when upgrading.
You can contact our support team or sales department for more information on the subscription or other options that may better suit your business.
Here's how:
Furthermore, learn how to access the view-only mode in QuickBooks Desktop if your subscription expires and how to update your company file so it works in newer versions of QuickBooks Desktop.
