Having issues signing up

I've signed up but I'm being asked for my tax details (either with an SSN or EIN), but I'm not a US citizen and I'm trying to access my company's quickbook as an international contractor. I don't need to get paid, it's just to log my time there, but the W-9 Tax Info form seems to be a blocker. What should be my next steps?

Having issues signing up

I appreciate you for posting in the Community, @sidB. I'm here to offer assistance to resolve your issue about being asked for tax details upon signing up for QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before we proceed, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share a screenshot of the page where you're encountering the request for your tax information. Providing this visual reference will enable us to better understand the problem and offer a suitable solution.

If you're setting up your company file on QBO for the first time, there's no need to input your tax details unless you've activated payroll features in your account. However, if you continue to receive prompts for this information, you can choose to skip it for the time being.

Since your primary objective is to record your working hours, you can log in to QuickBooks Time (QB Time). It is a third-party application designed to cater to your company's time-tracking requirements. Additionally, QB Time does not involve setting up tax details.

Here's a simple guide on how to clock in:

  1. Sign in to QB Time.
  2. Select Time Clock.
  3. From the list, choose a job or customer and click Clock In. If there's none in the list, select Clock In.

Furthermore, here are some articles that will guide you in navigating QBO and QB Time for the success of your business:
