By default, the actual balances or your account should automatically reflect in the shortcut. You'll want to double check or compare the amounts displayed with your Chart of Accounts.
If the balance isn't updated, let's close and reopen the program to start over fresh. Additionally, please make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop product is up to date. This way, you always get our latest security updates and bug fixes.
