I have some news about the issue you're having with the Dropbox or Google Drive local backup feature.
I checked our system and I see that there are users who are unable to schedule a local backup to Dropbox or Google Drive.
We have raised this to our engineers, and they're working to resolve this as soon as possible.
Since you're one of the affected users, we would want to contact our support agents so they can add you to the list. This way, you'll be able to receive updates regarding the local backup issue.
Here's how to reach them:
In the meantime, we can continue entering your data and use our backup system while we're waiting for a fix.
We cam take a look at this article if you'd like to know more about the backup feature in the Advanced version: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced company.
Need to check on your data through reports? We can take a look at this article to help us familiarize the Reports feature: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
We appreciate your patience as we're working to get QuickBooks Online Advanced's local backup feature back to normal. If you happen to have any other concerns regarding your entries or reports, let me know and I'll be glad to help you out again.
This is how I personally backup most of my clients. It's free to the user and is completely passive. Any time a file is changed in this folder it will automatically back up to their servers. All you need to do is signup for Dropbox, download and install the interface, which puts a Dropbox folder on your computer, then simply save down your QuickBooks file and backups to the Dropbox folder. Just like in rock climbing I'm extremely redundant with my protection and the same goes with QuickBooks. I will always save both the company file and backup to the Dropbox folder just in case. Hi,
Setting up local backups with Dropbox can sometimes require additional steps or troubleshooting.
I would recommend you explore alternative tools, like Skyvia. Our team has never had any problems with it.
Skyvia provides a no-code platform for automating backups to its Azure Storage or to various cloud storages like Dropbox. Or you can try using CSV format.
You can read more about this process here.
Hope it will be useful
