How do I add Cc Fee to customer invoice?

Quickbooks Point of Sale question.

We are considering a 3% CC Fee on customers transactions starting in 2019. What is the best way to handle on the Chart of Accounts?

Set up as a expense account or income account.

We do include the merchant account fees as an expense when we do the tax filings.

How can I create a new sales field within quickbooks to allow for the 3% fee without having to manual calculate the amount every transaction.

Thanks

How do I add Cc Fee to customer invoice?

Hi there, Newbie2018.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Allow me to help and provide some insights about setting up CC Fee on your customer's transaction.

Currently, Point of Sale (POS) doesn't have a feature to set up CC Fee on your customer's transaction. What you can do is, is create an non-inventory item and leave the price blank. So every time you make sales, you'll have to manually compute the fee that you've collected.

Here's how you can set up an item in the POS:

  1. On your POS window, click the item List
  2. Select Add.
  3. On the Item Name, type-in CC Fee.
  4. Put a zero amount on the Regular Price and Order Cost option.
  5. On the Tax drop-down arrow, make sure to select the Non-taxable.
  6. On the QuickBooks option, you can map the item on the desired expense account.
  7. Click Save

If you need further assistance with the steps, I recommend calling our Point of Sale Support. They have the tools to do a remote session and walk you through the process.

Here's how you can contact our phone support through this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/point-of-sale/customer-resource-center/support/.

While the option you're looking for is not yet available, I'd recommend sending this idea to our product developers through feedback feature.

To send feedback:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help.
  3. Choose Send Feedback Online.
  4. Select Product Suggestion.

Let me know if you have any other concerns, I'm always here to help. Wishing you continued success.
