How do I donate an invoice

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community. I hope you're having a great day so far. 

Before we get started, please know it's always best to consult with your accounting professional before making any changes to your books. Your accountant can advise the best course of action based on your business needs. If you don't have an accountant, don't sweat it. You can find one here in our Resource Center. 

Here are the five steps you'll need to take to record the donation to the church. 

1. Create an invoice for the products or services you donated.
2. Create an account for charitable contributions.
3. Create a product/service item called Charitable Contributions.
4. Issue a credit memo to the customer (church).
5. Verify the credit memo was applied to the invoice.
