How do I get a W9 from Quickbooks (Intuit) so I don't have to issue them a 1099 at yearend?

Hi there, DonSylvester. I will direct you to the appropriate support to obtain the W-9 form.

The Intuit W-9 form isn't a form we provide. To obtain a Form W-9, you must download and fill out manually. Once you have completed the form, you can print it and mail it to the appropriate tax agency.

You might wonder why the W-9 form isn't available in QuickBooks Online. As per our company's policies, payments made by our customers for our services don't require a W-9 or 1099 form because of the following:

On the other hand, invite your contractors to add their 1099 tax info in QuickBooks Online with this helpful guide: Invite contractors to add their tax info.

Additionally, for more information on the W-9 form, please refer to these resources from the IRS:

I'm available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about W-9 forms. Please comment below to let me know. Take care, and have a great day!

I called but could not reach anyone so I started looking on the internet.

I found a document that contains their EIN which is [PII Removed].

I found it on a Securities and Exchange Commission Form 10-K.

If you have the EIN number, you should be good for now.

I'm glad you joined this thread, @Nstoffel. Let me guide you on how to get a W-9 Form.

To acquire a Form W-9, you'll need to download and fill it out manually. Once completed, you can print it and mail it to your tax agency.

As my colleague shared in this thread, this form isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO) for the following reasons:

Additionally, feel free to read this article to learn how contractors can add their 1099 tax info: Invite contractors to add their tax info.

Don't hesitate to reply to this post if you have additional questions about acquiring a W-9 or any tax Form. We'll be willing to help. Keep safe, and have a good one.

Are all these replies just from AI bots? They're all exactly the same. In order to PROVE that we do NOT have to send you a 1099, we have to HAVE YOUR (Intuit) W-9 ON FILE TO SHOW THAT IT IS A CORPORATION. Literally how difficult is that for EVERY SINGLE customer service bot on this support site to NOT understand one of the simplest things of compliance. It's honestly scary that this company runs TurboTax and other compliance-based resources when they clearly are so dull that not ONE of their employees can provide the most basic vendor form. What a joke.
