Hello @blynnb, thank you for reaching out! Let’s discuss how we can adjust your QuickBooks subscription to better suit your current needs.
Although QuickBooks doesn’t have a direct option to pause subscriptions, you can cancel your account and reactivate it later when needed. Here’s how you can proceed with the cancellation:
For QuickBooks Online (QBO):
- Sign in to your QBO account as the primary admin.
- Navigate to the Gear icon, then Subscriptions and billing.
- Click Cancel and follow the on-screen instructions.

For QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT):
- Log into your CAMPs account.

- Select the QBDT Account you want to modify.
- In the Products & Services area, locate your subscription and click on Details.
- Verify the service you wish to discontinue, then Cancel Service.
- When prompted, please share your reason for leaving (this is optional), then Continue to cancel.
- Pick Cancel Now to complete the action.
After cancellation, you will retain read-only access to your data for a year. During this time, you can view and print old invoices and reports, but modifications will not be permitted.
Once you’re ready to resume your subscription, please refer to this article for guidance: How to reactivate QBO. For QBDT, check out this reference: Renew your subscription or use view-only mode.
