how do i record a deposit into business checking from personal savings

To record a deposit into your business checking account from personal savings in QuickBooks, categorize it as an owner's contribution or equity.

Go to "+ New" > "Bank Deposit," select the business bank account, and enter the amount under "Account" as "Owner's Equity" or "Owner's Investment."

This way, it reflects that you're injecting personal funds into the business.

4. Enter the amount being transferred in the designated field.
5. Edit the Date. You may also add a description in the Memo box.

What if the personal account is not part of QuickBooks?  We're not linking his personal account in QuickBooks but he transfers money to and from it,  how do I record this?

Follow the advice from kabel1657.  That's proper way to make a deposit from a personal account that's not in QB to a business account that is.
