how do i record a deposit into business checking from personal savings

Hi @hglover1,

To record a deposit into your business checking account from personal savings in QuickBooks, categorize it as an owner's contribution or equity.

Go to "+ New" > "Bank Deposit," select the business bank account, and enter the amount under "Account" as "Owner's Equity" or "Owner's Investment."

This way, it reflects that you're injecting personal funds into the business.

how do i record a deposit into business checking from personal savings

It's great to see a new member joining the Community forum, Hglover. I'd be glad to lay down the steps of recording a deposit from personal savings to business checking. I'll make sure to guide you through the process with clarity and precision.

When you move money from one account to another, you can record the transaction as a transfer in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Here's how:

  1. Go to +New and choose Transfer.
  2. In the Transfer Funds From dropdown, pick your personal savings account.
  3. Select your business checking account in the Transfer Funds To section.
  4. Enter the amount being transferred in the designated field.
  5. Edit the Date. You may also add a description in the Memo box.
  6. Hit Save and Close.
