I have already turned off pop up messages.  But the discovery hub still interrupts me on each client I work on.  How irritating.  I have worked with Quickbooks for years...and yet no one at Intuit cares enough to listen.  I called in about the discovery hub and yet still, a year later it interrupts every client I open as if it has no idea that I am on the same computer using the same desktop software...

I am having the same issue and don't understand why I paid a lot of money for a software program that I own and am constantly having to close out pop up ads.  It is VERY annoying and aggravating to have to deal with this. The pop up blocker does not work, plain and simple. Quickbooks needs to do better!!

I feel like those ads are just one of the many things they do with the desktop software to purposefully annoy you into switching.

Wow, After almost 2 years, I have a blank header in my Quick books. No more Discover Hub. Thank you loads.

I just had to upgrade to Enterprise 2024. Too bad it took two years to be heard but at least we see that they are listening. Now if they can just fix the format for phone numbers in the employee/vendors/customer information sections.

Would be right up there with other programs who plug in the dashes/parenthesis for phone numbers.ie:

0001112233 would be (000) 111-2233. Lol, just dreaming out loud.

Well I lied. When I closed the new update, (thank God it wasn't an additional charge) reopened it and there it still was. Stinking Discovery Hub.

Talk about breaking someones spirit. Guess it's really time for a change. This is 25 years I've been using QB. Finally fed up.

Unfortunately, it seems like QB techs are dealing with a lot of antiquated systems from the 90's and early 2000's and it's understandable that they can't fix things. There's literally no way for them to do that aside from actually making a new version of Quickbooks Desktop.

It's been almost 15 years since that has happened. What you are using now is basically the husk of what we had in the late 90's and the strain of the database can be heard all across the world.

If you "sincerely" appreciated our input, you would GET RID OF DISCOVERY HUB!! The pop ups block my work and they do not respond to the preferences AND they are not able to be closed by any means at all...not even the ones that work for some people, I've tried MANY TIMES!! I don't have time for this.  

Quickbooks is going down the drain.  The check box does not turn off pop ups like they say it does.  Actively looking for a different software.

This thread is years old. Why are you telling people to feed your company's data shredder?

PLEASE remove it.  I echo all of those concerned and upset users that pay, increasingly higher fees, to use the product that we have all used, faithfully, for decades.  PLEASE, remove it.

I just want to point out it is now 4 years after this thread was made and this issue still hasn't been fixed.

Discovery hub is even more broken now.

Sometimes I open quickbooks and I can't get rid of the pop up. It's just stuck there until I restart. 

Other times I close quickbooks and discovery hub won't close and I can't reopen quickbooks haha. 

And they want us to pay more for QBO lol

what's uglier is that none of the steps suggested works anymore! that hosts file block? it just blocks the "contents" of the popup but the popup is no less still in the way saying something to the effect of "page can't be displayed" like it's a fricking browser! and the "X" up top nor the "Know more" link doesn't do anything! 

it's literally IN THE WAY  of whatever we work on, we have to "minimize" that window so we can move it aside! PLEASE HELP!

Hello TuringIncomplete, I hear you on this one. I wish I had better news, but as of right now, QuickBooks Desktop doesn't have a setting to toggle that off or hide it. It's one of those built-in features that tends to stick around.

For now, you can send feedback directly to our Product Development Team. First, go to the Help menu at the top. Next, click Send Feedback Online. Then, select Product Suggestion.

Sending feedback has not helped in 4 years.  Why would you suggest doing something that has no effect at all whatsoever? I would respect you more if you just didn't reply at all.  No reply is so much better than a useless reply. I have zero respect for a useless copy and paste not at all helpful reply.

Magnolials here, Just wanted to update my post with a Thank You to QB. Three times since Thursday 3-19, I have been able to close the Discovery Hub and you would be amazed how freeing it is to not have to pay attention to the discovery hub.

Just here to add to the misery! I have turned on the option to not allow pop-ups and it seemed to work for awhile but the Discovery Hub is back with a suggestion that will not allow me to click out of! It is blocking and hindering things getting done in QB.

I agree with ALL the other folks here saying we pay way too much to have to deal with this. 

I also have a "Renew Subscription" alert on my desktop even tough it IS paid and renewed.

And here we are in 2026. Same problem!!!

I too have complained about the discovery hub popup.  It hides part of the window and makes it difficult to work with.

QuickBooks is not giving this issue the proper attention.  

Thinking of replacing the software.
