How do I save an invoice as a Memorized Estimate to use in the future?

I would like to save a previous invoice as a Memorized Estimate to use in the future for clients with similar circumstances. Is this possible? All of the answers I see do not allow an easy conversion from Invoice to Memorized Estimate.

How do I save an invoice as a Memorized Estimate to use in the future?

Hi there, @kmckonalicious.

In QuickBooks Desktop, you cannot convert an Invoice to a Memorized Estimate to use in future transactions. However, you can manually create a new Estimate using the same details from the invoice and memorize that estimate.

To memorize a new Estimate in QuickBooks Desktop, follow these steps:

  1. Create the estimate as usual and go to the Customers menu.
  2. After entering all details, go to the Edit menu.
  3. Select Memorize Estimate.
  4. In the Memorize Estimate window, enter a name for the Memorized Estimate.
  5. Choose how often to remind you (e.g., monthly, yearly) or select Do not remind me.
  6. Click OK to save the Memorized Estimate.

This allows you to reuse the estimate without re-entering details each time.

Furthermore, check out this article for more details on how to create and manage repeating transactions in QuickBooks Desktop: Create, edit, or delete memorized transactions.
