How do you add an existing estimate to a existing project in qbo

Hello.

I have the steps to help you add an existing estimate to a project.

We'll want to edit the Customer field on the estimate, then link it with the existing project.

Here are the steps:

  1. Open the existing estimate.
  2. Under the Customer drop-down menu, select the project (it should be under the customer profile).
  3. Once done, click Save and close

The existing estimate would appear on the Transactions list page on the existing project.

If you need help managing your projects and the corresponding entries, take a look at this article: Set up and create projects in QuickBooks Online.

If you'd like to see how your entries would play out on your financials, we can run reports to see the current figures. Check out this article as a guide if you need help running a specific report: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

Do you need more help with your projects? Or do you have any other concerns about your entries and reports? Let me know the details and I'll help you out again.

Hello, keith75.

I appreciate you following the steps that my colleagues recommended to you. Don't worry, I have more troubleshooting methods that can help you to figure out why it doesn't appear in the existing transaction.

Sometimes an overloaded browser stops QuickBooks Online from working properly. Open QuickBooks in a private or incognito window to see if the issue is with your browser. This can help us eliminate any cache-related problems that may have led to the issues. To open it, use the following shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press CTRL + Shift + P

If the steps above work, I suggest clearing your browser's cache to boost browser-related issues. Some stored data on your browser can impact the data being transmitted, thus causing some unusual responses.

In case private browsing doesn't work, I'd recommend using different browsers. They'll provide you with the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks. For more details, please see this article: System Requirements For QuickBooks.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend getting in touch with our customer support team. They will be able to access your account in a secure environment and investigate further using their advanced tools.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select the Help (?) menu.
  3. Choose the Assistant tab.
  4. Click the Talk to a human option.
  5. Press Get help from a human.
  6. Tap either the Chat with us or Have us call you button.

Moreover, I've got this page to help you track labor costs while using the project feature: Track hourly labor costs and profitability by the project in QuickBooks Online.

If you have follow-up concerns about estimates and the Project feature in QBO or other inquiries, please let me know. I'm just around to help. Keep safe always.
