How do you get rid of the setup guide from the Dashboard?

Hi again, allanri.

Thanks for that allanri. The Set Up Guide will show up when an account is newly signed up or created. This serves as guides specifically for new users. To get rid of this, you have to complete the process from See how much you're making down to the Add the finishing touches. In the long run, it will just disappear from there.

If you have any other issues or need further assistance, feel free to post here. Thank you and have a nice afternoon.

How do you get rid of the setup guide from the Dashboard?

Hi there, allanri.

Thank you for dropping by the Community, I'm happy to assist you, can you elaborate on the setup guide that you're seeing? Perhaps provide a screenshot, that way we can see exactly what we're working with and provide the most help possible. In the meantime, I'm including a link to an introduction to the home dashboard so you can see everything included and it's purpose.

I look forward to hearing back from you, thank you for your time and have a nice afternoon.

How do you get rid of the setup guide from the Dashboard?

I’ve done everything, except sign up for accepting payments, which I Don’t plan to do. Are you saying that this part of the screen will just go away on its own after a period of time? I hope so.

Thanks for your time today, @allanri,

Yes, the Setup Guide section in the Dashboard will turn off itself after a certain period of time. As Nick mentioned, this preference is specially created for new users who just signed up for QuickBooks Online.

Our developers created in-product guides to help new customers learn more about our program. It also helps them be more familiar with what options or tools they can use to make their experience in QuickBooks better.

In the meantime, you can use the Hide option to temporarily remove it from the Dashboard view. Also, I'll be adding a few related links below with the Resource Guides of the processes in QBO:

Feel free to drop by anytime for any QuickBooks concerns. I'll be right here to help you. Have a lovely weekend!

Thanks for joining us here, Brandon1351.

We're unable to give you a specific time frame as to when the setup guide disappears from the Dashboard.

As mentioned by my peer from the previous replies, that you will have to complete the process from See how much you're making down to the Add the finishing touches so you can get rid of this message.

If you have any other concerns, please do add them below. We'll be glad to help.

Hi, @169351.

I understand that the Setup Guide window may affect your navigation with QuickBooks. You can get rid of this section once you complete the setup of your account. I'll surely pass along your message to our product developers so they'll be aware of the feature needed for future product enhancements.

To get the latest QuickBooks news and feature updates, I recommend visiting our blog. Here's the link: The QuickBooks Blog.

How do you get rid of the setup guide from the Dashboard?

I call BS. I completed the setup guide yesterday. Yes, EVERY SINGLE STEP. The guide prompt not only remained in place (showing 100% completion), but this morning it has reset back to 0% and is trying to get me to start over. Just admit this feature is a piece crap, a good idea executed poorly, and fix it. Stop making excuses to explain why we have to deal with this.

I used an adblocker to remove it.

That did not work for me, I have since used an adblocker and that worked.

Completing the step in the guide do not register as complete. For example, "Review the data you migrated" has a "Looks good" button that does exactly nothing. I can click it all day and the step is not registered as complete. Everything is like that. There is a step to add team members. I'm not doing that, it's just me ... but there is no "no team members" option, or even "skip this step" button. The final step for me is "Download the app for your computer" - I'm *USING* the app on my computer. This is a bit ridiculous, I don't want a third of my view blocked by something I can't make go away, and I certainly don't want to wait for it to go by itself.
